My latest adventure was virtually a tightly compressed collage of food, neighborhoods and experiences which eludes any ordinary description for such a short domestic trip. My palate was tickled at a variety of dining establishments, I conversed with close to one hundred patrons, servers and chefs and I toured miles of quaint family neighborhoods and city quarters packed with restaurants. It will probably take me a couple of weeks to unravel it all into a cohesive thread with a sensible progression.
Meanwhile, I will be working over the next several weeks to replicate the food that most impressed me. So, for now, here is a visual collage covering San Francisco, a drive through the fertile California growing areas, and a brief stop for an architectural tour in the town (Pasadena) that gained fame for housing the Rose Bowl among other things.
